Simple Pan Seared Lemon Herb Chicken
A quick and juicy chicken dinner that cooks perfectly in any nonstick pan.
There is nothing quite like a simple pan seared chicken breast to get dinner on the table in a hurry. This recipe focuses on keeping the chicken moist and flavorful with just a few pantry staples.
I find that using a good quality nonstick pan makes cleanup so much easier. You do not need to worry about the chicken sticking to the surface, which lets you focus on getting that perfect golden crust.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 fresh lemon, sliced into rounds
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- 1
Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and oregano.
- 2
Place your nonstick pan over medium heat and add the olive oil and butter.
- 3
Once the butter is melted and foaming, carefully add the chicken to the pan.
- 4
Cook for about 6 to 8 minutes on each side until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through to an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
- 5
Toss the lemon slices into the pan during the last two minutes of cooking to let them caramelize slightly.
- 6
Remove from the heat and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
๐ก Tips
Serve this chicken alongside steamed vegetables or a fresh salad for a light meal. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
