Overnight oats are a lifesaver for busy mornings when you want something healthy but have no time to cook. By soaking the oats and chia seeds together, you get a lovely, thick texture that tastes just like pudding but keeps you full until lunch.

I love keeping this base recipe simple and adding whatever fruit or nuts I have in the pantry. If you are in a rush, just grab your jar from the fridge and head out the door.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup milk of your choice
  • 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. 1

Combine the oats, chia seeds, milk, yogurt, sweetener, vanilla, and salt in a glass jar or small container.

  2. 2

Stir everything well until the ingredients are fully combined and no dry clumps remain.

  3. 3

Cover the jar with a lid and place it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, though overnight is best.

  4. 4

Give the oats a quick stir in the morning and add a splash more milk if you prefer a thinner consistency.

  5. 5

Top with your favorite fresh berries, nuts, or a dollop of nut butter before serving.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

You can store these in the fridge for up to four days, which makes them perfect for meal prepping at the start of the week. If you want extra crunch, always add your nuts or granola right before you eat so they stay nice and crisp.
