Easy Apple Dump Cake
A warm and cozy dessert that tastes just like apple cobbler but requires almost no effort.
dailyrecipesbook.comThis apple dump cake is my go to recipe when I want something sweet but do not have the time for a complicated baking project. It is truly as simple as dumping the ingredients into a pan and letting the oven do all the work for you.
Most people love this because it has that classic cinnamon flavor and a buttery, crisp top layer that is hard to resist. My best tip is to make sure you distribute your butter slices evenly so every corner of the cake gets perfectly golden.
Ingredients
- 2 cans apple pie filling
- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, sliced
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
- 1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a 9 by 13 inch baking pan.
- 2
Pour the apple pie filling into the prepared pan and spread it out into an even layer.
- 3
Sprinkle the ground cinnamon over the apples.
- 4
Evenly distribute the dry cake mix over the top of the apples, making sure to cover them completely.
- 5
Place the slices of butter evenly across the top of the cake mix.
- 6
Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the top if you are using them.
- 7
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the apple mixture is bubbling.
- 8
Let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving so the filling can set up slightly.
๐ก Tips
This cake tastes wonderful served warm with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream on top. If you have leftovers, keep them covered in the fridge for up to three days and warm individual portions in the microwave.
