Simple Eggless Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream
This creamy, dreamy vanilla ice cream is so easy to make that you will never want to buy store bought again.
Growing up, I always skipped the vanilla cups at parties, but my taste buds have certainly changed. Now I see that a really good vanilla ice cream is actually the best dessert because it is simple, pure, and goes with everything.
Since this recipe does not use eggs, you do not have to worry about tempering or cooking a custard base. Just whisk your ingredients together, chill them, and let your ice cream machine do the hard work for you.
Ingredients
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions
- 1
In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, milk, and salt until the sugar has completely dissolved.
- 2
Stir in the heavy cream and vanilla extract until everything is well combined.
- 3
Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator for at least two hours to chill completely.
- 4
Pour the cold mixture into your ice cream maker and follow the manufacturer instructions until it reaches a soft serve consistency.
- 5
Transfer the ice cream to a freezer safe container and freeze for another few hours if you prefer a firmer scoop.
๐ก Tips
For the best flavor, use a high quality pure vanilla extract. If you want to keep it fresh, store your ice cream in an airtight container with a piece of plastic wrap pressed directly against the surface to prevent ice crystals. It stays best when eaten within two weeks.
