There is something so comforting about a big bowl of meatballs. Using turkey keeps them light while keeping all the flavor you crave, and they simmer beautifully right in the sauce to stay juicy every single time.

My favorite trick is to add the burrata right at the end. The cool, creamy cheese melts slightly into the warm tomato sauce, which makes every bite taste like something from a fancy restaurant. It is a quick meal that feels like a treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 1 ball fresh burrata cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. 1

In a large bowl, mix together the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, parmesan, egg, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper until just combined.

  2. 2

Shape the mixture into equal sized meatballs, rolling them gently between your palms.

  3. 3

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides, cooking for about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs and add the fresh basil leaves.

  5. 5

Lower the heat and let the meatballs simmer in the sauce for 15 to 20 minutes until they are cooked through.

  6. 6

Place the burrata ball in the center of the skillet, break it open with a spoon, and serve while warm.

💡 Tips

Serve these meatballs over your favorite pasta or with crusty sourdough bread to soak up the sauce. If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
