When I am short on time and need to get dinner on the table, these honey garlic pork chops are my go to choice. They are incredibly easy to make, and because they are finished with a quick broil, they end up with those beautiful caramelized edges that everyone loves.

I prefer using bone in chops for this because they stay nice and juicy while cooking. This dish looks fancy enough for guests but is simple enough for a busy weeknight meal. Just make sure to use a large skillet, preferably cast iron, to get the best sear possible.

Ingredients

  • 4 bone in pork chops
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 2 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F and place a large skillet over medium high heat.

  2. 2

Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.

  3. 3

Add the olive oil to the hot pan and sear the pork chops for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove them to a plate and cover with foil.

  4. 4

Reduce the heat to medium and melt the butter in the same pan. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

  5. 5

Pour in the chicken broth, honey, vinegar, and chopped rosemary. Season with a little more salt and pepper, then increase the heat to medium high to let the sauce simmer and thicken for about 5 minutes.

  6. 6

Place the pork chops back into the pan, coating them in the sauce. Top each chop with a sprig of fresh rosemary.

  7. 7

Transfer the pan to the oven and bake for 7 to 8 minutes. For extra crispiness, turn on the broiler for the final 1 to 2 minutes.

  8. 8

Remove the pan from the oven and let the meat rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with green onions.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. To keep the meat juicy, always let your chops rest for 10 minutes before slicing. If you want to serve this as a complete meal, pair the pork with roasted potatoes or a fresh side of asparagus.
